High up in the clouds, where the air is so clear that sunbeams sparkle like diamonds, a tiny snowflake named Stella was born. Her body looked like a little piece of lace from Grandma’s favorite dress, shaped into six shining arms. Each arm was different, yet together they made a perfect, delicate pattern.
“I’m a real miracle,” Stella thought to herself when she first looked at her glittering edges. And she was right—every snowflake is one of a kind.
Stella wasn’t alone. All around her, thousands of other snowflakes swirled in the clouds, and many of them became her friends. She was especially close with Lily, Sophia, and Nella. Together, they spent their days in the clouds, playing games and talking about what it would be like when they finally fell to the earth.
“Do you think it will be scary?” Lily asked one day.
“No,” Stella answered bravely. “It’s going to be the biggest and most beautiful adventure of our lives!”
One day, that moment came. The clouds grew dark, the wind began to blow, and Stella felt something gently lifting her from her place.
“This is it—we’re flying!” she cried joyfully as she started drifting down from the sky.
The snowflakes laughed, tumbled, and twirled in the wind as it carried them over forests, rivers, and hills.
“Look at that beautiful world down there!” Sophia exclaimed as they floated over a snowy meadow where a group of children was standing with their sleds.
The wind carried them lower and lower until they finally landed on the snowy ground. Stella came to rest on a soft white blanket, but she soon realized that her friends were nowhere nearby.
“Lily? Sophia? Nella?” she called, but no one answered.
Stella was suddenly all alone. Everything around her was quiet; only the moon in the sky seemed to be watching her sad little face.
When night fell, Stella began to cry. Her tiny tears sparkled like little diamonds. Her sobbing did not go unnoticed—the wind, tired from a long day’s work, had returned to rest and heard her.
“Why are you crying, little one?” the wind asked. His voice was deep, yet gentle.
“When I was falling to the ground, I was with my friends,” Stella said, her eyes full of tears. “Now they’re gone, and I miss them so much.”
The wind felt sorry for her. “Don’t worry, I’ll help you find them,” he said and began to softly comb through the snowy land.
He swept over meadows, forests, and valleys until he heard faint giggles and cheerful laughter. There he found Lily, Sophia, and Nella, happily enjoying the beautiful winter evening together.
The wind returned to Stella. “I found them,” he said and gently lifted her from the snowy blanket. With great care, he carried her to the place where her friends were.
When Stella found herself among them again, her heart filled with joy.
“Thank you, Wind!” she said with a bright, grateful smile. “I’ll never forget you.”
From then on, Stella and her friends stayed together. Every day they delighted in the winter, played on the snow, and watched children building snowmen and racing on their sleds. And whenever the wind passed by, all four of them waved up at him with sparkling smiles.
From that day forward, Stella knew that even though life is full of changes and can sometimes feel sad, there is always someone who will help—if you’re brave enough to ask.
